Social Skills Checklist
If your child exhibits any of the following behaviors, he/she may benefit from joining a Social Skills Group at KRS.
- Has difficulty making or keeping friends
- Frequently acts out or behaves inappropriately in social situations (school, restaurants, parties, etc)
- Demonstrates anxiety about social situations such as school
- Has difficulty initiating or maintaining a conversation with adults or peers
- Makes impulsive decisions
- Has trouble picking up on nonverbal social cues (e.g., facial expressions)
- Has trouble using eye contact appropriately (may vary across cultural groups)
- Has trouble understanding humor or sarcasm compared to other children his/her age
- Often not accepted by peers, or is frequently bullied at school
- Has trouble solving problems with peers
- Has difficulty picking up on feelings or thoughts of others
